Okay. I do see how long it has been since I've written here. Ridiculously long. And so much has happened, is still happening in my life. But I'm sitting here in the Jury Selection room of the County Courthouse, with a bag full of reading material (why did I bring all that, with so many books on my phone, from which I'm writing this). But I saw on Facebook that my dear niece Melissa posted a link to an entry I wrote two years ago. Two years!
My life is so different than it was two years ago! Should I write about retirement? About my trip to France last summer? About being co-owner of a sweet little trailer by the lake?About how it is, learning to live with another person again, after living alone for 21 years? About joining AA? Yes, I should, and want to, write more than once a year, if I want to write about all that, and whatever else comes up day by day in this one wild and precious life.
But now I need to stand up and move around this crazy jury room full of people who are just as restless as I am. Do you know that "sitting is the new smoking" (heard that on NPR the other day)? Maybe I'll go lean on a wall and read my "New Yorker. "
Yes, you write about ALL these, because I have been checking in often—and I am sure many others have too—just wondering what has happened to you. Delighted to see you back.
