Ann, I am so thrilled for you. The folks in Crossville have been blessed to have you as their priest, and surely, you have grown as well. Having heard the Black Madonna back story, I couldn't be more thrilled for you. If God has put the art and narrative in your heart, all of the rest will come together. Love & best wishes,

Jack Shifflett

Congratulations, of course--you have so much to look forward to once you're back in Buffalo and living the leisurely life of a retiree! Writing, sketching, thinking, traveling, relaxing, being with old friends: much to do. [Also, I should mention that friends of mine here in Missoula have a 2013 Honda Fit (their's is teal) and they seem quite happy with it.]

Congratulations! How will a Fit do in the snow? Is it AWD? I hope you will still be teaching or blogging so we can still learn from you.

WOW..........is it really time for you to Retire? St. Raphael's will miss you, but you are getting closer to me, hurray.........Love and Hugs

All best wishes. Retirement can be fun, but the transition is not easy. I've been retired 12 years and still supply when asked and have a regular once a month service at the state prison nearby. I'm also working elections as a precinct election judge and at early voting.

So, Ann, here I see your announcement about retirement. I gather you are pleased. Now, back to your adopted hometown and your oldest and dearest friends. And I see the part about the Black Madonna book. I look forward to hearing more.

I remember my grandparents saying that their 1955 Ford would be their last car -- and I can count at least four others they had afterwards!
