Two things happening in my life (not worth of much more than a Facebook status, unless I'm willing do dive deeper): I've announced my retirement as of June 30 here in Tennessee. I'll be moving to Buffalo, collecting my pension, working part time, and hopefully writing my black madonna book and traveling more. Second: I bought a new car today. Yum. 2013 Honda Fit. Probably the last car I'll ever buy. Red. Simple and basic. Reminds me of every car I've ever owned before my darling Celeste, the car I just traded in. Goodbye leather seats and sunroof. Hello little, city-living car. It's not as small as a Smart Car, but littler than my "loaded" Accord. I miss my beauty already, but have the car that's right for me now.

I'll be working on leave taking over the next 3 months, the combination of grief and celebration and anticipation. I love the place I'm leaving, and love the place I'm going. Much more to follow....
